Sylvia Gilis

Meet Sylvia Gilis, a leading pioneer in sustainable innovation, who is turning the mycelium industry on its head! She is the director of MycaNova, a company that creates a biomaterial by transforming mycelium, a co-product of citric acid.

With her expertise in citric acid production, she devised a way to use the waste of citric acid to make "Citribel Mycelium." This is groundbreaking because we have a new biomaterial while reducing waste. Gilis is passionate about using this biomaterial mycelium for various purposes, with an eye toward a greener future.

At the Future Generations Conference, Gilis will share with us what makes MycaNova so unique in Flanders. She talks about leadership and how to turn a traditional company into a sustainability pioneer.
