A personal growth training in his family company Colruyt and the book “How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas” by David Bornstein were key milestones in the life and career of Piet Colruyt. He realized that he wanted to put his background and experience at the service of social entrepreneurs who combined the best of both worlds: a healthy business model and societal impact.
It led to him founding Impact House, a meeting point for people who are passionate about creating entrepreneurial solutions to social and environmental challenges. He is also co-founder and chairman of SI² Fund, which focuses on social impact through sustainable investments, and co-founder of Re-Vive, a brownfield developer.
Colruyt studied philosophy, civil engineering, architecture and corporate finance. He started his career as an architect, working on projects to make supermarkets more sustainable and less energy consuming.
At and& Colruyt will have much to share on how changemakers who question the status quo can pursue a durable, positive societal impact.
