Jean Twenge

Jean Twenge is a professor and researcher at San Diego University who studies the mental health of young people. She points to alarming trends in the mental well-being of the youth and highlights the negative impact of social media and smartphones. Her long-term studies offer some of the earliest and most comprehensive data on how technology and social media affect teenagers' mental health and well-being. In the book Generations: The Real Differences between Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, Boomers and Silents-and What They Mean for America's Future, Twenge explains that differences between generations are shaped by the incredibly rapid evolution of technology.

But don't worry, at the Future Generations Conference, Twenge shares not only the challenges surrounding young people's mental well-being, but also ways to address those challenges.
