Bart Van der Roost

Bart Van der Roost holds a Master in Music as trombonist, but already there and then his teacher said, prophetically: "You're quite OK as an artist, but I see a manager and creative entrepreneur in you". After further education at the VLEKHO Business School he has worked for more than 18 years in the cultural and creative industry, both in profit and non-profit environments. He worked at Brussels Philharmonic as COO, and was responsible for all spin-offs and all 'normal' concerts, tours and recordings.
He founded neoScores, a digital alternative for sheet music and was CEO of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen where he successfully managed the end of the merger between the Royal Ballet of Flanders and the Flemish Opera, as well as setting up a new long term management agreement with the Flemish government, including a multimillion total overhaul of the iconic Ghent Opera-house. Currently he is secretary-general at the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège.
