Timothy Morton

British philosopher Timothy Morton are a professor of English literature at Rice University in Houston. They have authored Ecology Without Nature (2007), Ecological Thought (2010), and Hyperobjects (2013). In their work, they effortlessly blend art, literature and philosophy into their own unique thoughts. Morton are a supporter of Object Oriented Ontology (OOO), a movement that rejects the privilege of human existence over nature and believes that all objects, human and non-human, co-exist equally.

Their latest book, Dark Ecology, extends this idea. The term refers to a critical mindset that assumes that we are connected to everything around us. When we are no longer able to look at nature from a distance, it becomes clear, according to Morton, that man has lost contact with nature. In fact, we are in the process of destroying nature and this process has been going on for some time.
