What if AI commits a crime?
What if AI commits a crime?
“We’re in an age of experimentation where laws, technology and, perhaps most importantly, our limits as individuals are tested and negotiated on a daily basis.”
- Gry Hasselbalch
At and&, we are building an interdisciplinary space where sharp minds bow their heads over 21 questions for the 21st century.
AI scientists probably never had the ambition to build killer robots, yet here they are. And what if AI commits a crime? Artificial intelligence and super intelligence is steadily coming closer, and proportionally getting further out of our control. We must be aware of the risk that comes with technology that outsmarts us.. How far will we let AI go? Who needs to regulate it? What is the responsible and ethical approach?
All of the and& speakers on this track have a nuanced feeling on, and broad understanding of Artificial Intelligence. The anti-futurist Theo Priestley, the AI expert Nell Watson, and data ethicist Gry Hasselbalch make for a broad scope in the illumination of this quasi mythical concept.
All of them have a positive outlook on AI, all of them supplicate keeping a critical stance on AI, too. The far future is coming soon.
