After graduating as an economist, Nienke Binnendijk organized projects and meetups to help tackle some nasty design challenges in our current economy. Nowadays, she is business director of BlueCity Lab: the first circular makerspace in the world where bioneers prototype their solution for a waste-free city.
She aims to provide start-ups and scale-ups with access to circular resources, knowledge and talent, and to turn ideas into action. Ultimately: to help sustainable entrepreneurs to grow from intention to impact.
At and&, Binnendijk will be describing some of BlueCity’s European projects. Plastic Twist, which aims to revalue recycled plastic, using blockchain technology. And Wastefew (Waste Food-Energy-Water Urban Living Labs) which aims to map and substantially reduce waste in the food-energy-water nexus in cities across Europe, Africa, and South America.
If you’re a like-minded blue pioneer, keen to surf the new economy, this is one talk you won’t want to miss.
